Antipodal Neighbors

In this series of paintings I have chosen a particular place and described it through its buildings, flora and fauna, statues, transportation and the movement of weather. I hope to portray some of the mood, culture and history of each place. These panels are presented as diptychs. Each one has an antipodal neighbor and it is hung an inch under the other, upside down. This creates an underworld in which we can find the relationship between opposites on the globe. Paris, France digs to Pitt Island, New Zealand and perhaps finds something of herself there.
